Hamilton has an incomparable group of teachers, staff and parents who work hard to make this school a wonderful, enriching environment for everyone. The PTO needs YOU!   Everyone has something to offer whether you think you do or not, we can find a way for you to help make a difference! WHY SHOULD I GET INVOLVED?
Because of your children and because of your community.  Studies have shown that membership in PTO provides your child and other children around you with a greater chance of achieving in school.  As a PTO member, you are more likely to be an informed, involved parent.

HOW CAN I BENEFIT?
PTO provides opportunities to meet and to talk with other parents who have the same goals, aspirations and concerns as you.  Being part of PTO results in parental support and makes school involvement easier.  The PTO provides the opportunity to serve, to volunteer, and to contribute to the welfare of all children, because children represent our future

GOALS for this year involve but are not limited to providing assistance to the Fine Arts Department including the band, art, drama and dance; putting finishing touches on our new outdoor classroom/learning center and hosting regular family movie nights for the school/community in it; beautification of the grounds especially the front on 20th Street;  providing teacher grants; organizing and hosting events like Freaky Friday Dance and SPRING THING; improving communications with the Administration/Staff by having coffees with the principal once a month; increasing PTO membership school wide with parents from all of the different classes joining; and,  expanding our school wide, parent email program for notices/announcements.

Without the PTO,  we would not have the ongoing improvements of the new SPARK Park; over 50 new trees on the school property;  a new look for the library; $5,000 in Teacher Grants; SPRING THING;  a booth at the Heights Festival, Teacher/Staff Appreciation Programs; a successful Administration/PTO/Parent Partnership working together for the betterment of HMS; and, many more great things!

Annual dues for joining the PTO are $5.00 per person.  New member envelopes are in the front office.  You may also send $5.00 to school in an envelope clearly marked with PTO, your name, address, phone number and email address as well as your child’s name and grade.  Have your child  give this envelope to their homeroom teacher.
A school directory form is attached.  If you would like for your child to be in the directory,  we must have this form completed and returned to the homeroom teacher.

Join because you care about your child!  Your child spends the majority of his/her day at Hamilton.  Help us make it a better place to learn and live!

Working together we can make great things happen!
