Test Preparation

1.  Tutorials are provided Monday through Thursday after school from 3:50-4:50.

2.  Interactive TAKS Tests are available at the Texas Education Agency’s website, TEA.state.tx.us.  Select “Released Tests”.

3.  Contact your child’s dean at 713-802-4725 to set up a conference with the teachers.

Test-Taking Tips

1.  Make sure your child gets plenty of sleep the night before a test.

2.  All students should eat a healthy breakfast everyday.  This is especially important on the days of a major test.  Breakfast is offered free at Hamilton each morning from 7:30-8:00.

3.  Please make sure that they have sharpened #2 pencils and arrive to school on time.  Not having the proper supplies or running late can add to the anxiety of a major test.

4.  Tell them to take their time and read all questions carefully.

5.  Provide them with positive reinforcement to help build their confidence.
